Guest Safety Officer
Primary Location: Private Island in the Bahamas
Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the care and wellbeing of all Bell Island Guests. Duties to include supervision of guest activities to ensure immediate response to any situation, administration of necessary care, provide advice and treatment of minor medical situations, assistance with evacuation procedures, ensure follow up care and reporting, and ensure a high level of confidentiality between medic and patient. Work alongside Guest Activities team and assist as required and when appropriate.
 
Reports to:  Island Managers.
Duties:
1. Ensure all necessary medical equipment is on hand and available. Stock Jump Boxes with all necessary equipment and materials and ensure it is at the guest locations. Begin each day with full inventory check. Make sure vehicle is fully prepared and fueled.
2. Once your daily checks are completed, work with the Activities team as requested while ensuring your primary responsibilities are maintained. Assist when appropriate with beach set ups, boat preparations etc. This can be done while guests are dining or are not in the public areas.
3. Communicate with Guest Activities team to establish guest activities on a daily basis. Maintain communication with key activities personnel. Ensure VHF radio is charged and ready. Keep radio tuned to Bell Island working channel and monitor constantly.
4. Perform duty of Safety Officer/Lifeguard at various locations including but not limited to all Bell Island Beaches, excursion boats, dive boat, off island picnics etc. Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with guests while ensuring 100% attention to their safety.
5. Ensure that at least one Safety Officer is present during various guest activities. Do not leave the guests unattended. Notify guest activities personnel if you need to leave the site for short periods of time. Coordinate lunch cover with other safety officer.
6. Coordinate and provide first responder/medical treatment for all circumstances including minor issues and up to and including emergency situations.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
   Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player.
   Must possess advanced certifications in various aspects of first responder care
   Must be customer service oriented
   Ability to use required medical equipment
   Ability to work with minimal supervision
   Demonstrate safe work practices and appropriate environmental practices
   Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends and Public Holidays
Experience Requirements:
   Minimum 3years in EMS Field, EMT/Paramedic
   Rescue Diver Certification a plus.
   Ocean Lifeguard experience preferred
   RHI rescue Trained
   Must be available to spend extended periods of time on remote island
   Must be available 24 hours per day/seven days per week while on island
Requirements
Experience Requirements:
