Here is some of what you can expect from being a Histotechnologist with us:
- You will function as a primary care provider in the out-of-hospital setting.
- You will be responsible for all aspects of care provided to the sick and injured.
- You will provide basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, use of the automatic defibrillator, and assist patients with taking some of their own medications as protocol allows.
- You will be responsible for driving the ambulance in a safe and responsible manner under all conditions.
- You must have a thorough knowledge of the street, highway, and addressing systems in which he or she will be working.
- You must understand all applicable legal, moral, and ethical issues surrounding the emergency medical service environment.
- You should be dedicated to continuing education and maintenance of licensures and certifications.
- You should have minimum mechanical knowledge of the ambulance and be able to troubleshoot when issues arise
Position Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current Kansas State EMT Certification
- Current National Registry Certification
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Driver's License (must be valid, current and unrestricted)
- Maintains an insurable Driving Record
