Company History
Ascent Medical Transport was founded in 2024 in Boise, Idaho, by Matt Kaiserman, MBA, Brian Hite, BSN, RN, CCRN, CFRN, and Dr. Rourke Yeakley, MD, MHA, who share deep experience in air and ground critical-care transport, hospital operations, and healthcare innovation. The company emerged after the founders recognized serious gaps in Idaho’s private interfacility and critical-care transport market—particularly the absence of dedicated critical-care resources for the sickest patients traveling between hospitals. Leveraging decades of combined field and leadership experience, they set out to build a clinician-led organization emphasizing clinical excellence, safety, and accountability from day one.
From its inception, Ascent was designed to deliver the full continuum of care—BLS, ALS, and Critical Care/Specialty Care Transport—with a focus on quality and reliability unmatched in the Treasure Valley. The founders developed operational frameworks, quality-management systems, and partnerships with local health systems to ensure Ascent could become the first locally accredited, value-based transport service in Idaho.
Early plans also envisioned diversification into wildfire standby, mining operations support, and interregional critical-care transfers, aligning with the company’s mission to set a new standard of care across the state and broader Northwest. Today, Ascent stands as a growing regional leader dedicated to advancing patient outcomes through innovation, disciplined execution, and a culture of continuous improvement.
