- Overnight Summer Camp EMT

Join our vibrant community in Brackney as a Summer Camp EMT at an overnight summer camp! We’re looking for a certified Emergency Medical Technician to support our campers’ health and safety throughout the summer. This contract role is perfect for someone who enjoys a fun, active environment and is passionate about working with children while living and working on-site in a close-knit camp community. As part of a dynamic team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during an unforgettable seasonal experience.
As the Summer Camp EMT, your responsibilities will include responding to medical needs and minor injuries, assisting with health screenings, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting overall wellness across camp. You’ll play a key role in emergency preparedness and response, working closely with camp leadership to ensure a safe environment for all campers and staff in a 24/7 residential setting. No specific specialty experience is required—just your EMT certification, strong judgment, and a commitment to keeping campers healthy, active, and thriving.

Requirements
- EMT certification (current and in good standing; Pennsylvania
certification preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity)
- Flexible and adaptable—able to thrive in a dynamic, overnight camp
environment with varying schedules
- Confidence in EMT skills, including first response, triage, and
basic emergency care
- Responsible, dependable, and able to exercise strong judgment in
both routine and urgent situations
- Strong interpersonal skills—friendly, approachable, and able to
build trust with campers and staff
- Solid assessment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced,
outdoor setting
- Prior experience working with children preferred (does not need to
be in a medical capacity)
- Desire and ability to be a team player within a close-knit camp
community
- Comfortable with and excited about an active, outdoor lifestyle
- Ability to commute to camp daily; optional on-site housing available
for those who prefer a residential experience
- Must submit health history record and examination form prior to the
first day of work
- Must be able to pass all required state background checks with a
favorable result prior to the first day of work
- Genuine interest in working with and supporting children, including
those with varying abilities and needs
- Ability to effectively interact with boys and girls ages 6–17 in a
residential camp setting
